Do the Antique Tango!
Although the name of this shop may be confusing, Tango Martini sells neither dance paraphernalia, nor cocktails. This very popular Chinese antiques store was established in 2002 in order to bring some of the Eastern treasure to Montreal collectors. Frequented by local interior designers, dealers and anyone who has a penchant for unique and beautiful Chinese craftsmanship, Tango Martini is truly authentic.
Chinese Vintage
Every three to four months the owners of Tango Martini will take a trip to China with the sole purpose of collecting as much classic furniture, ornaments and accessories as they can. In order to keep their shop fully stocked with new and interesting items, the owners do research and hunt down obscure pieces for their clientele.
Modern-Retro
Some of the vintage finds in the store are such unique, ancient Chinese pieces that you may not even know what they are used for at first glance. The chairs, tables, armoires, stools, benches, desks, old-fashioned rice containers, baskets chests and room-separating screens all have unique and often hand-painted or and-made details added onto or carved into the wood.
