Founded in 1928 by Reuben Schwartz, a Jewish immigrant from Romania, the restaurant has a unique dining room with many rows of long narrow tables. It’s always filled to capacity for both lunch and supper. Barely renovated over time, the décor has kept its original character.

Since 1928, Schwartz’s has kept the authenticity of its tradition. Unlike other delis that use preservatives, Schwartz prepares its smoke meat in the traditional manner, with a secret blend of herbs and spices, marinated for 10 days.
