The Green Room’s space is relatively long and wide compared to some of the cozy and sometimes cramped bars with which it competes for the hipster clientele. This means that there is room for dancing, sitting and chatting and even for a band to play. Because of the black walls, open spaces and technical lighting the space feels a bit like a theatre, which is appropriate given that in the performing arts world, a “green room” refers to the room backstage where the actors hang out, wait and try to relax. The decor leaves room for folks of any and all styles to feel at home, and so the Green Room manages to attract lots of different kinds of musical guests.
A Gallery Space, Too
In addition, the clean black walls are easily transformed into gallery space for local artists. By seeking out fresh art, the Green Room manages to simultaneously support young artists and to keep the interior of the space feeling lively.
Rambunctious Fun of All Sorts
There are regular DJs here that keep the Green Room jumping on most nights of the week; it is packed with young folks shaking it until the wee hours. Aside from this rambunctious fun, the Green Room has also made a mark in the minds and hearts of locals with events like games night, which is hosted by the Green Room's jovial staff, and by being open to hosting parties for university departments and all kinds of other groups.
