Surrounded by walls lined with various framed impressionist art and classic images, the clientele at Salon Officiel feel as though they have entered an orb of encapsulated time. However, though the paintings might be a few centuries old, the bar staff’s apparel resembles 1940s burlesque, and the music is often futuristic in genre. Opened in early 2007, this bar is the dream child of two young Montreal women, and their feminine influence of the bar’s atmosphere makes it stand out among other local sports bars and pubs.
Disco Forever
Featuring a variety of DJs on a weekly basis, this bustling bar is a home away from home for the average Montreal 20-something on a Friday night. Happy hour is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every night and the DJ usually comes on from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. With spacious seating as well as a dance floor, Salon Officiel is comfortable and energetic all at once. In addition to the bar’s signature DJ style music, Salon Officiel also features live shows and theatre, such as fun burlesque performances.
Montreal Magic
Thanks to the bar’s early success, Salon Officiel has become a popular destination for groups of friends and young singles looking for a beautiful atmosphere, a fun-loving staff, an artsy décor, and danceable disco beats. The party goes on nonstop at this lively joint and there is no end to the flow of beer and mixed drinks either.
