Capture the Spirit
Named after the Tibetan word that begins most traditional Buddhist prayers, the title of the Restaurant Om on Saint Laurent Boulevard has a double meaning - it is also intended to capture the spirit of the chant used to free your mind of distractions before beginning a session of yoga. A place of Zen-like tranquility and great Tibetan and Indian cuisine, Om attracts a sizeable following of new age gourmands from nearby yoga centres, as well as anyone else who harbors a taste for the exotic.

The Place to Be
Opened in 2003, the popularity of Om has spread throughout the Plateau Mont Royal and beyond by way of mouth without the use of any marketing campaign by the management, helped along the way by numerous stellar reviews in various well-known Montreal publications. Boasting an authentic Tibetan décor complete with prayer flags and burgundy-coloured walls that match the colour of the robes worn by Tibetan monks, the peaceful atmosphere and candlelit ambiance create the perfect backdrop for an intimate meal.

Try Something Different
Specializing in Tibetan cuisine, diners can choose from a number of traditional delicacies like momos (beef, chicken or vegetarian dumplings), churu soup (with cheese and lamb), sha-ka-tsa (strips of beef with garlic, ginger and hot sauce) and timo timo (steamed white bread for dipping), not to mention Indian dishes like beef, chicken, lamb or vegetarian biriyani.
