Regarded by many Montreal gourmands as one of the city’s best French eateries, the ever-popular Restaurant Laloux on des Pins Avenue East transcends the genre and stands out among the numerous French restaurants in the city. Since 1986, this high class European restaurant has served top-of-the-line dishes that fuse time-honoured French quality with revolutionary themes and style. Appreciated by a varied crowd of politicians, movie stars and local area gourmands seven days a week, it is also the perfect destination for a special occasion, such as an anniversary dinner.
Lighter Dishes
Laloux invites you to discover delicious dishes always prepared with an impeccable “savoir-faire”. Indulge in a tasty halibut with citrus fruits served with its shellfish sauce or taste the grilled meat piece (flat iron steak or strip loin or filet mignon), accompanied by an arugula and cherry tomato salad and served with French fries. The creams and butters that make French food so tempting are prepared in a lighter fashion in order to serve more health-conscious dishes. By being creative and meticulously taste-testing each new culinary adaptation, the staff has managed to please all clients by maintaining the rich quality of French food, while removing some of the excess calories.
Paris on Des Pins
This institution has become over the years, more than just another chic French restaurant: it is a culinary art attraction. Laloux’s large bistro-style décor complete with large windows and mirrors, provides an elegant backdrop to a truly unique meal. Known as “Paris on Pine Avenue” to its seasoned regulars, Laloux is part of what makes Montreal the gourmet capital of Canada.
