Swiss Cuisine
When a Montreal restaurant manages to stay in business for more than 15 years and counting, you know that you're in for something special each and every time you dine there. While French or Italian cuisine may be leading the pack as this city's choice of favourite foods, the ever-popular Restaurant La Raclette on Gilford Street in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal neighborhood has proven that there is still room for other, more exotic eateries that don't fit the Montreal archetype. That being said, if the savoury fondues and raclettes of Swiss cuisine sound appealing to you, then the Restaurant La Raclette is definitely worth your time.

Fondues and Raclettes
Featuring a Swiss-influenced décor that is best described as warm and inviting, this Plateau-area eatery is famous around Montreal for their authentic Swiss fondues and raclettes, a type of traditional fondue dish served with new potatoes, pickles and onions. An ideal spot for a romantic dinner, La Raclette's charming European ambiance and gregarious Swiss hospitality make dining here an experience you'll want to repeat as often as possible!

Other Specialties
La Raclette’s chef likes reinventing things as they go. For this reason, the table d’hôte changes from one week to another, offering you each time a variety not only of fondues and raclettes but also dishes such as creamy vegetables soups, mustard salmon and minced veal. When dessert time arrives, be sure not to miss one of Switzerland’s other specialties: chocolate! Ice creams and pies as well as the “poires Belle Hélène”, consisting of pears covered with a melted chocolate sauce, are purely exquisite!
