This large and pleasant bistro in Outremont, which has been open since 1986, offers an impressive assortment of mussels prepared in various ways: marinière (white wine and herbs), Italian, Roquefort, mustard, Indian and more. And of course, they’re served with delicious French fries and homemade mayonnaise. In addition to its succulent mussels, La Moulerie offers a selection of other delights sure to please the palate: fresh salmon tartar, chicken liver mousse with port wine, fish soup with aioli (garlic mayonnaise), Hunan chicken or duck confit salad, chicken supreme, beef tartar and salmon steak.
To Complete the Meal
To end the feast, enjoy a chocolate profiterole, sugar pie or crème brûlée. La Moulerie serves Belgian, Québécois, Italian, German and other beers on tap and in bottles. It also has an appealing wine list as well as an extensive selection of affordable wines available by the glass.
Casual Atmosphere
This trendy yet casual bistro can accommodate about 100 people, split between the dining room and bar side, and nearly as many on its spacious terrace that directly faces the famous Théâtre Outremont at the intersection of Bernard and Champagneur Streets.
Tempting Formula
It is worth noting that tables d’hôtes are served every weekday at lunchtime, and brunch is served every Saturday and Sunday as well as on holidays. For serious mussel buffs, La Moulerie offers all-you-can-eat mussels every evening from Sunday to Wednesday. Oysters prepared in different ways, Matane shrimp, snow crab and lobster are all served when they are in season, and year-round the chef entices clients with surprises!
