Like the Good Old Days
Proudly bearing the colloquial name for the busy street upon which it stands, the Restaurant de la Main was founded in the 1970s. Although many things have changed in Montreal since then, this small, family-run restaurant has barely changed and continues to serve steaks and smoked meat. It is one of the city’s oldest establishments.

Meat Lovers
The Restaurant de la Main is very popular with meat lovers. They serve rib and sirloin steak, liver, sausages and, of course, smoked meat sandwiches. Served with coleslaw and a huge pickle, the latter are without doubt the favourite dish of most regulars, who never tire of them! The Fred Flintstones of this world can also enjoy 20-ounce steaks. Homemade cakes are an excellent way to end your meal or as a night time snack — the restaurant is open all night!

Retro Look
In addition to having kept the same menu throughout the years, the Restaurant de la Main seems to have also kept the same décor. There are benches, tables and counter space where you can sit, and the restaurant can accommodate about 75 people in its retro-style atmosphere.
