Profil Dernière mise-à-jour: 29 mai 2008
Amongst the Plateau's wealth of gourmet French restaurants, the aptly named Pied de Cochon specializes in a wide variety of pork dishes and delicacies that set this fantastic eatery apart. Billed by the management as a lively, bistro-style establishment with plenty of rambunctious conversation and good cheer, Au Pied de Cochon is a local favourite. Opened in 2001 and continuing to put a fresh spin on an array of savoury pork specialties that local area gourmands can't seem to get enough of, this restaurant is a cut above.
Pork Delicacies
Although they serve various meat dishes, such as beef, lamb, duck and venison, Au Pied De Cochon specializes in scrumptious, falling-off-the-bone pork platters. Taking advantage of an old brick oven that came with the kitchen when the owners first bought the establishment, the chefs roast slabs of pork to perfection on a rotating turn. Continuing the Quebecois culinary tradition of rich, hearty, filling meals, this restaurant makes sure that customers are well fed.
Black and White
Opting for a more minimalist decor, Pied de Cochon is done up in a black and white colour scheme that gives the establishment an informal and laid back feel. That being said, this upscale restaurant invites customers to an evening of fine French dining that combines the culinary traditions of France with innovations from “chez nous.” Offering an extensive wine list to complement any item on the menu, Pied de Cochon is redefining how Montrealers look at French cuisine.
