Branching out from its original location that opened in Toronto in 1993, Preloved first opened in Montreal in 2003. This men’s and women’s clothing concept boutique specializes in giving new life to old clothing. Taking second-hand pieces and reviving them by creating new cuts and combinations of prints and colours, every item in this shop is one-of-a-kind. The three main lines this company sells are the Preloved, Handcut and Bloved collections.
Versatile Styles
The Preloved line takes vintage T-shirts, jeans, sweaters and pants and reshapes them to make new staple pieces for your wardrobe. Available in four different sizes for men and women, Preloved is practical and unique. The Handcut line is a more stylish and daring collection for which designers have painstakingly measured, cut and sewn each 100 per cent vintage garment by hand. The Bloved women’s line features all new fabrics combined to create clean, streamlined silhouettes with comfortable and practical wearability.
Ecological Fashion
For years, vintage clothing has been popular among haute couture enthusiasts, for its classic quality. Recently it has come to serve a second purpose. If a garment is 100 per cent vintage, then it is also 100 per cent recycled, making it ecological and environmentally friendly. Now the combination of vintage’s chic aesthetics and its ethical sensibility are making this theme a hot trend among the indie design circles as well as the bigger labels. Preloved has been ahead of the game in this respect, and thanks to their pioneering the ecological fashion trend they have received much press attention from magazine such as Flare, Music + Fashion, Lou Lou, and more!
