Quintessential Diner
With large, basic paintings of strawberries adorning the bottom of the windows at Place Milton, you just know before you walk inside that at this little diner you’ll be welcomed to a friendly, casual eatery. This quaint spot deep in the heart of the McGill Ghetto is a steadfast student hangout. After a night of studying, brain food is essential for refuelling, and Place Milton offers just that. This little shop offers yummy breakfasts, lunches and treats that quickly turn one-time visitors into seasoned regulars. This is more than apparent by how quickly the eatery packs up. The friendly staff serves up inexpensive yet hearty meals, providing good value for money for cash-starved (and just starved!) McGill students.

Hearty Breakfasts
Standards like large portions of bacon and eggs, and delicious crepes are to be expected here, as it is essentially a breakfast spot. But there are lunch items on the menu as well, including sandwiches, soups and some bistro favourites like mouth-watering burgers. The menu is posted on a chalkboard and the ambience provides that old-fashioned diner feel, with 1950s prints on the walls and a counter reminiscent of the era. Blenders buzz regularly, whipping up fresh-fruit smoothies on demand, and creating shakes so thick you need a spoon to consume them. But rest assured: it’s definitely worth the effort! The perfect spot for McGill students (or just those who want to soak up the student atmosphere), Place Milton is a real treat.
