Inaugurated in 1963, this theatre was simply called la Grande Salle, before being renamed in honour of the famous conductor Wilfrid-Pelletier. Throughout the years this room has welcomed the biggest names in the musical world: Céline Dion, Evita, Pavarotti, Maria Callas, Bruce Springsteen, Marlene Dietrich, Johnny Halliday, Ella Fitzgerald and many others! Three resident companies also show their work here: the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal and the Opéra de Montréal.
All Kinds of Shows
With 2982 seats and no less than four levels, the salle Wilfrid-Pelletier hosts all kinds of shows, from rock concerts to opera, musicals, comedians, orchestral pieces and dance shows. There are also several bars and foyers: the Salon Vert, located in a backstage rotunda; the parterre foyers; the Piano nobile, a majestic area ideal for private receptions and conferences; the Beauchemin Foyer, located in the dress circle (corbeille), the Lapalme Foyer, also on the dress circle; the Bar Pellan and the Bar Galerie. All these areas are decorated with impressive pieces of art.

Help and Service: In addition to these various places of talk and relaxation, the salle Wilfrid-Pelletier has a cloakroom and offers help to those with reduced mobility as well as a system for deaf people.
