Located along the banks of the Rivière-des-Prairies on the north side of the Island of Montreal, the Parc-nature-de l’Île-de-la-Visitation is ideally situated in the historic district of the Sault-au-Recollet region. One of nine local area nature parks run by the Communauté Urbaine de Montréal, the Parc Nature de l’Île-de-la-Visitation covers a total expanse of 34 hectares chockfull of great activities for outdoors enthusiasts of all ages! Open year-round to the public, this park is famous for its vast array of aquatic birds and migrating schools of fish.
Summer Activities
Boasting a network of foot trails and cycling paths, the Parc Nature de l'Île-de-la-Visitation is an ideal destination to take a relaxing walk or bicycle ride to enjoy the beauty of the great outdoors, as well as the spectacular waterfall created by the Rivière-des-Prairies' central hydro-electric plant.
