Two Inspiring Atmospheres
The two Mikasa sushi bar locations, located in very different Montreal districts, both serve Japanese cuisine but each one has its own atmosphere and culinary specialities. The branch on Acadie Boulevard is perfect for a romantic meal. It has a peaceful ambience with waterfall sounds and a mainly wood décor. It’s different from the restaurant on Peel Street which has a much more urban feel and a downtown, jet set clientele. This location is a good bet for a group of friends who want to enjoy some jazz or lounge music along with their sushi. The traditional tatami mats and sushi bar attract customers who are fans of these Japanese traditions.

Leading Trends
At both Mikasa locations, you’ll find traditional Japanese dishes and inventive sushi. Their menus are basically the same, but the chefs create different specialities. Mikasa Sushi staff are attentive and courteous and will guide you through your choices—and there are many! Succumb to the temptation of the Japanese prawn ravioli appetizer or the traditional miso soup. Salmon or chicken teriyaki, served with vegetables and fried rice, is sure to please. The sushi is colourful and flavoursome; try the hamachi yaki, a mixture of grilled yellowtail tuna with chef’s sauce, or the québécoise maki, combining avocado, cream cheese, smoked salmon and cucumber. Wash it all down with a glass of white wine or sake.
