The Vélo Québec Network
Spread over three floors, the Maison des cyclistes is the headquarters of Vélo Québec. The nonprofit organization advocates cyclists' rights, travelling by bicycle and safe cycling, and offers myriad training workshops. It oversees the Route Verte project comprising 4,300 kilometres of bike paths throughout Quebec. Interested in a cycling trek abroad? Vélo Quebec Voyages arranges domestic and international cycling, cross-country skiing and hiking trips with various degrees of difficulty. From a week-long jaunt through Prince Edward Island to a two-week cycling adventure in Costa Rica, there's a package for each taste and ability. The group also organizes major events and publishes cycling magazines and guides.

Shop for Gear, Stop for Coffee
The Bicicletta Boutique is equipped with all tools and gift ideas for an avid cyclist: Maps, books, travel guides, bike racks, clothing, cyclometres, pocketknives and other accessories. Meanwhile, with a great view of Parc Lafontaine, Café Bicicletta has an assortment of light fare. Start the day off with a buttery croissant, bagels or fresh fruit accompanied by an espresso. Or, stop in for a light lunch or supper. Daily specials may feature empanadas or paninis, which pair nicely with the eatery's list of beer and wine. Indulge in a slice of cake or cool off with an iced coffee while taking in some sun on the summer terrace.

Join the Club
Serious cyclists may consider joining the Vélo Québec Association. For a reasonable annual fee, members get a magazine subscription and reduced rates at several cycling events and excursions. They also get discounts at the Bicicletta boutique as well as other Quebec retailers.
