Le Local is a high-end bistro tucked away in the heart of Old Montreal. This restaurant is a perfect addition to Montreal’s dining scene. Its menu is made up of complex and classic items like braised beef and deer tartare, which is served on a piece of slate with balsamic vinegar and capers. Not only is the food delicious, but also fairly priced considering its perfection. Le Local also serves lunch specials from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and then items from the tapas menu until 5:30 p.m. on a daily basis.
Cooked to Perfection
Le Local uses local ingredients and all of its dishes are unique and cooked to perfection. For an appetizer, try the onion soup gratineed with Migneron de Charlevoix cheese or the tartiflette with Reblochon and morteau sausage. For the main course, the red-wine-braised pork shoulder is highly recommended and is served on cheese and garlic mashed potatoes. Even its wine list is extensive and affordable and happy hour runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on a weekly basis.
Beautiful Space
Besides the delicious food, Le Local is also beautifully decorated. Le Local was designed by renowned architects Lemay Michaud and the space is unquestionably unique. The restaurant is divided into three sections, a lounge/bar area, a street-side terrasse and of course, the main dining room. The space itself is also stunning with floor-to-ceiling windows and a steel grey and orange colour scheme.
