Kafein is a favourite hangout for Concordia University students. Divided into a downstairs lounge and an upstairs cafe-bistro, the unpretentious style and chilled-out ambience of this establishment continues to draw new customers every day. Ideally located next to the university's downtown campus, one visit to this trendy resto-bar and you're definitely going to need a daily fix of Kafein!
Upstairs
Featuring a relatively plain decor accentuated by an exposed brick wall, the upstairs portion presents a fairly extensive menu of tasty homemade items and delicious coffees. Some of the more popular items on the menu include a wide variety of panini sandwiches, soups and salads, as well as homemade Lebanese and Italian dishes like lasagne and mouloukhiya (made with rice, chicken and a spinach sauce).
Downstairs
An ideal spot to cram for exams or sit back and enjoy a few drinks with friends, the downstairs lounge offers a cozy space to relax any day of the week. Highlighted by a stone wall and comfortable leather sofas and divans, this is the place to be after a long day of work or classes.
