A visit to this shop is a refreshing and tasty way to break up a day of shopping on bustling St-Denis or cap off a night on the town. There's sure to be a line-up on a balmy summer evening and the parlour may stay open late when the weather calls for it. Its clientele—which is as diverse as its menu—appreciates its courteous service and charm. Take your cone or milkshake to go or, sit on a bench outside and watch the world go by if you're lucky enough to get a spot.
Quality Goods
All products are made on the premises using all-natural ingredients. The emphasis on quality shows in their creations, such as organic lemon sorbet made with filtered water or coffee ice cream laced with fair-trade espresso. You won't find any stabilizers, colorants or emulsifiers typical of commercial brands. Rather, all the ice creams are made with rich crème anglaise and organic sugar. Many of flavourings are imported: cacao beans from Holland, vanilla beans from Madagascar and coconut from Thailand. No wonder it is known to have one of the best vanilla ice creams in the city.
Unique Flavours
Meu Meu boasts about 120 ice cream, sorbet and soy dessert recipes in its repertoire. About a third of them are featured at a given time. Its menu regularly changes according to seasonal ingredients and mood. You will find both traditional and innovative flavours like mango, watermelon, lavender, lime, various teas and even beer. Of course, there's also old-fashioned soft vanilla and decadent chocolate. Feeling spicy? Order up a waffle cone of cardamom, ginger or cinnamon ice cream. Meanwhile, a scoop of velvety frozen yogurt, a nostalgic strawberry milkshake or an indulgent blizzard will surely help you savour summer and cool you off.
