A fort was erected there in the 18th century and replaced by a seminary in the 19th century. Nevertheless, two towers of the original fort still stand. At the turn of the 20th century, prosperous families began to erect their family homes on the plot. Finally, in 1958, a family purchased one of the houses and converted it into the “Versailles Lodge.” As that family bought up adjacent properties, the Chateau Versailles was born.
Luxurious Location
Situated in the heart of what is known as the Golden Mile, the Chateau Versailles’ location is both convenient and cultured. In close proximity to art galleries, museums and antique shops, the Chateau offers guests countless excuses to enjoy the city. For those who prefer laying low, the Chateau Versailles’ selection of suites are luxurious and cozy. Suites here are ideal for both relaxing and entertaining. The Versailles Suites even feature a fireplace to warm the traveller’s bones.
Decadent Dining
To get the day off to a pleasant start, the Chateau offers a continental breakfast in its Boudoir dining room. Although there is no restaurant inside the hotel itself, the Chateau has considered your palate and appetite. Just across the street is Bronte, a prestigious dining establishment located on the ground floor of its sister property, the Meridien Versailles. Those who are too weary to cross the street, however, can have room service bring Bronte’s cuisine to their room.
