The store and restaurant take up a full old-city block, with a spacious interior for stacking high the gourmet goods and for circulating the air throughout the dining area. From fancy chocolates to fresh-baked bread to oils, vinegars, salts and even pre-made meals, there are plenty of snacks to choose from – many of which would make great picnic options during the summer down by the waterfront.
Award-Winning Design
Not only does Le Cartet feel luxurious, it has also won the Commerce Design Montreal award for its layout and design. Filled with wooden tables and drenched in light, it’s no wonder the jury chose this as their favourite spot in the city.
Food for the Weary Traveller
On the restaurant side, brunch and à la carte options abound, from the Brunch Cartet (apple and apricot compote, croissant with ham and goat cheese, salad, soft-boiled egg, salmon and sweet potato croquette) to the All-Salmon Special Brunch (scrambled eggs with salmon, smoked salmon on a bagel and the salmon and sweet potato croquette). Every day, the restaurant’s staff creates three plates for in-store tastings and take-out options. Fish, pasta, meat and vegetarian dishes are always on the menu, with reasonable prices for each.
