Historic As the Neighbourhood
Specialized in the sale of used and antiquarian books since 1984, Bookseller S.W. Welch moved to its current location on Saint-Viateur West in 2007. Signature to its look, the bookshop has stayed true to its roots and has kept its identifiable red façade. The shop is open seven days a week, often staying open later into the night. Indeed, the owners encourage book lovers and clients to drop in after satisfying those late-night bagel cravings next door.

Come In and Stay a While
The owners are proud of the quality and range of the works available in-store, and of the continually updated selections. Truthfully, they would prefer that you came in, asked around for help and suggestions, and pass through the stacks. How else will you know what to look for? Savvy book searchers will discover all-too-soon forgotten classics, important scientific works, historic documents, and art manuals, as well as humour, mystery, and science fiction magazines. Die-hard collectors will love the bookstore's carefully bound rare titles. Works on religion, history, and philosophy are popular with the university students that specialize in these subjects, as well as those seeking answers to life’s deeper questions.

Only the Best in Bookselling
Bookseller S.W. Welch welcomes you to bring in your used books and works, and the shop trades through buy, sell, or exchange. A member of the Antiquarian Booksellers’ Association of Canada (ABAC), S.W. Welch likes to consider themselves the biggest and best specialized bookseller in the city—if not the country! It is the ideal place for readers to browse, read a few pages, and meet avid book lovers like themselves.
