Offering a brewery-type menu (fries, hamburgers and such), Bistro de Paris welcomes its clientele starting at 10 a.m. every day, and is happy to keep serving late into the night each evening. Regulars spend their time shooting pool or on the video poker terminals, but more than anything, they come to talk. A big basket of the Bistro’s fries are a must to get the conversation started,
Let’s Jazz
On Saturday evenings, Bistro de Paris plays host to jazz or blues bands that entertain the crowd from the small stage. Different every week, these groups play all evening, rivalling the atmosphere of Diable Vert, their neighbour across the street. The rest of the time, an iPod is used to offer varied music to the clientele, with a marked preference towards the smooth sounds of jazz.
For 75 Years
Bistro de Paris first opened its doors in the 30s, and, since then, the bar has become a staple of the area. It’s a true, old-fashioned tavern with little in the way of modern touches. It has an excellent sound system, and consistently books talented groups time after time. Luckily, it seems the Bistro is here to stay.
