Four Ecosystems
The Biodôme consists of four separate ecosystems: a tropical forest, a Laurentian forest that changes with the seasons; a St. Lawrence marine ecosystem, simulating the estuary and the gulf; and polar ecosystems of the Arctic and Antarctic. Each ecosystem is complete with plants and various species of wildlife indigenous to that region, offering visitors hours of delightful examination. Children will be especially impressed with the Arctic and Antarctic ecosystems where they can gaze at the endless acrobatics of penguins and puffins as they glide through the icy waters. The hot and humid tropical rainforest offers the perfect respite from a cold winter's day, as parrots and monkeys chirp and chatter away in the enormous rainforest canopy overhanging the walkway. If you're lucky, you'll catch a glimpse of the elusive anaconda and the lynx, two magnificent creatures that are a marvel to observe.

Education
The Biodôme isn't all fun and games; its mission is to educate the public about humanity's place in the fragile ecosystems of the world. There are three restaurants to satisfy your hunger after a long trek and a gift shop selling souvenirs and educational toys. There's also a day camp available for children between the ages of seven and 15, with various subject covered. Sleepovers can also be accommodated.

Conservation Projects
The Biodôme is conducting research conservation projects for the following plant and animal species: wild leek, ginseng, tropical bats, the wood turtle, as well as various water systems. These research projects are carried out by a team of researchers, associate researchers, internal contributors and external contributors, as well as numerous student-researchers.
