Three Floors of History and Character
Bar Saint Sulpice has not changed hands since it opened as a small bar-terrace in 1980. Since then it has taken over three floors and the basement of the century-old house it occupies. On a busy summer night, up to 1,500 people can be seen drinking and socializing in its many rooms and terrace. The spacious outdoor terrace is its main attraction, drawing summer crowds, especially during the Just for Laughs Festival. The bar always has specials on pints and pitchers. They carry Labatt, Boreal and other local brews, as well as a large stock of imported beer that caters to all tastes.

In the Basement
The basement, opened in 2006, features three widescreen television screens that will play music videos, so you can watch as you listen. There is also a “chill room” with soft couches and chairs. Each floor has its own ambience and music type, ranging from pop to rock to top forty to classic ’80s and ’90s music.

Poetry, Art and a Study Room
Works of painting and sculpture adorn the walls and stairways of the St-Sulpice, all the way up to the cabaret dance floor at the top and rooms of all sizes are available for reservations. Yearly poetry contests bring people from everywhere, at about a 70 to 30 Francophone to Anglophone ratio. On the second floor, a bright room with a small bar provides a welcoming living room atmosphere. Students can use the wooden tables and chairs, along with the free Internet, to cozy up with a book and a beer. There is even a small library along a side wall.
