Oldest in North America
Established in 1754, in the days of the New France, Auberge Le Saint-Gabriel is regarded as the oldest inn in all of North America. It was granted Quebec's first ever liquor license by the British colonial government in 1754. More than two centuries later, the inn remains an important part of Montreal's history. Located in the heart of Old Montreal, the auberge served, during the 19th century, as a private residence for one of the country’s first millionaires, Dolly Hart. Although the establishment no longer operates as an inn but only a restaurant, it has kept its original “auberge” title in homage to its historical past.

Nouvelle French Cuisine
Specializing in a savoury gastronomic tradition known as “new French cuisine”, Auberge Le Saint-Gabriel's team of world renowned chefs continues to seduce the palates of even the most refined gourmands. They offer an amazing array of gourmet dishes, made from the best products that Quebec has to offer. The restaurant boasts an interior and exterior terrace that seats up to 60 people. It also has a private dining room on the second floor and the spectacular Velvet Cabaret performance salon. With several elegant banquet halls, the Auberge Le Saint-Gabriel is perfect for any number of special events, including weddings and business receptions.

A Reason For Each Season
The restaurant’s menu changes every season, offering its customers a wide variety of different tastes and dishes to enjoy. The dishes here are simple yet elegant. For a lighter meal, come by for lunch time and try out the beef or salmon tartar or the duck confit salad à la niçoise. The chocolate mousse, made from 72 percent cacao is also not to be missed. At night, you won’t want to miss the garlic sautéed shrimps or the famous “Châteaubriant”, recommended for two people.
